This mattress protector fits over a memory foam mattress that sits on top of my regular mattress. It is waterproof. It fits and it works perfectly. What could be better?

I bought a protect a bed cover when I had a futon made 4 yeras ago. The family room futon/playground has springs in it not well padded so there is hard things for the protect a bag to run against. I have 4 big dogs all who get wet and muddy and jump all over this futon. My son and his friends spill lots of stuff on the micro suede cover so sometimes I need to wash all the covers. I have not seen any spots go through to the futon. I am looking to buy one for the king size bed the old dog leaks on. He leaks on the futon to as well as the litte boys.

In some ways, I do like this protector better than the one I bought with my Tempurpedic, and it is much better than the fakes I bought online somewhere. It is softer and much easier to get on the bed. However, I just had the cat pee the bed (AGAIN) and discovered the pee went through the protector. It is only a couple of weeks old, and washed only once, carefully following the directions. Good thing I learned my lesson with the old protectors and now double up! With two layers of protection, my mattress survived the pee attack, and with the super soft webbing on the sides, it is much easier to layer them up than with other brands. Unfortunately, now that I know they fail, I need to buy another two so I have something to protect the bed while the others are being washed.
Generally, my biggest complaint is that they are very expensive for needing to use two at a time!
UPDATE: I ordered this item again (dang cat just keeps peeing the bed!) and it looks like the protectors are now being made in China instead of Spain. I haven't tested the waterproofing yet but they seem MUCH lower quality - they are stiff and not nearly as nice and soft as they were when they were made in Spain. I don't know if I trust the new one at all, even with it doubled up!
